Children in mental maths tests are often asked to calculate percentages of numbers mentally. e.g. 25% of 48, 75% of 36, 40% of 60 etc.
These questions are quite easy to solve if the children are familiar with the mental maths techniques and tricks required to solve them. I have therefore prepared a sheet below which explains the main ways in which to calculate percentages of numbers mentally, followed by some practice sheets where you can test their mental techniques by constantly changing the numbers you give them.
