The basic facts relating to time which all children need to know are:
- There are 60 seconds in a minute.
- There are 60 minutes in an hour.
- There are 24 hours in a day.
- There are 7 days in a week.
- There are approximately 52 weeks in a year.
- There are 365 days in a year, 366 in a leap year.
- There are 12 months in a year.
- That February has 28 days, 29 in a leap year, April, June, September and November each have 30 days and all the other months have 31.
The rhyme for remembering which months have which days is as follows:
30 days hath September,
April, June and November,
All the rest have 31,
Excepting February alone.
Which only has but 28 days clear
And 29 in each leap year.
I think that this website is brilliant to help people improve their maths but some people like myself find that these things are a bit below some peoples level. No offence on the site meant.
